Wilmington and New Hanover County
Its shores are graced by palatial homes, breathtaking gardens, 18th century churches, and miles of unspoiled coastline. Over 250 years old, Wilmington has the charm of a small historic deep south town, yet is contemporary and industrial enough to impress business giants such as G.E., Corning, and DuPont.
Wilmington International Airport is the regional airport serving the people of southeastern North Carolina. It is three miles North of Wilmington on a 1500 acre site. Airlines serving the Airport are: USAir with 7 daily jet flights through their Charlotte hub and Delta Air Lines with 9 ASA commuter flights a day to the Atlanta hub.
Wilmington is a port city. Dozens of private industries and marine-related services share the Cape Fear River with the North Carolina Ports Authority.
